Carissa is a Business Growth, Sales & Marketing Coach based in Brisbane Australia.

She has been starting & growing small businesses since she was 16 years old…Something which her parents, initially, felt would not be a suitable career for her.

She has now been at it for about as long as I… I started at 17… Except unlike me, when she was 21 she started tanning, hair & lash extension salon in the garage of her rental property. By age 24 had 3 stores, 9 staff, and 2 of her own product ranges, all built using Facebook.

She has now pivoted into offering business coaching services to other businesses that are looking to grow their businesses just as she did, and gain more clients through facebook marketing in a humanistic approach which puts potential clients at ease doing business with their companies.

Impressive.

By 25, she was no longer working in the business and was traveling the world and running the show from home. Once the business had succeeded she realized she could help other businesses achieve the same results. This is when she found her passion in offering business coaching services.

Her Facebook marketing as business coaching services,  philosophy entails treating clients and potential clients(facebook followers) in a humanistic way, and not just as numbers, as she says in this podcast episode: ”hey, these are a lot of people instead of, saying hey these are a lot of numbers”

when asked what facebook marketing is, and is not she explains that facebook marketing “has nothing to do about Facebook but everything to do about human connection.”

So she contends that the only content she should put out there on facebook is content that makes people want to engage with each other and the brand establishing a connection between the business and the customers or clients.

Her advice to businesses looking to market on facebook is to first have a business page with the name of the business, which should be a no-brainer for anyone looking to market on facebook.

Then secondly imagine your followers as an audience which you are going to perform in front of. Think about what you would say to get their attention. She cautions against walking on the stage, throwing a picture to the people and then walking off-stage.

Content like stories, behind the scenes, Questions, and Answers(Q&As), all the types of content that encourage the follower to engage with the brand by doing something, brands which engage with the followers are much more likely to receive more clients, since they invite followers into their brand stories.

She further suggests that with the right kind of content marketing strategy for the right amount of time it will be easier for a business to determine its clients or customers’ needs, and develop a suitable product to market in their marketing campaigns.

something which I think is a great tip for businesses looking to market on any social media platform.

In this episode, she discusses the main challenges her clients face. She states that when she first started marketing business coaching services, she believed her clients understood her instructions easily and could easily follow them, and see results.

However, her thinking was true for some clients and not for others, some knocked it out of the park and saw results, sometimes instantly but others could not see any results no matter how hard they tried.

She also goes on to discuss how she discovered that the real reason for the success of others and the failure of others is the mindset, maintaining a positive mindset, in particular, can help in developing and running a business, and marketing efforts like a well-oiled machine.

she also discusses failed employee-manager relationships, how her first employee cheated her out of revenue, and how that incident inspired her to developed new skills and systems for hiring trustworthy and high-performing employees.

If people are always on facebook, which they are, a situation which has been proven true by an experiment that Carissa took, asking her followers (audience to take a picture of what’s on the other side of their screens). An indicator of the fact that people are always on facebook.
